Marvin Parker hadn’t planned on hanging out at the Virginia Beach Convention Center on Friday, April 26, during the first hours of the inaugural Something In the Water festival. But thanks to Mother Nature, he did.
Severe thunderstorms rolled across the Oceanfront that afternoon, about an hour before the concerts were to start.
Parker stopped by the convention center and was planning to head for the main stage with some friends to watch Newport News-based musician Masego perform, but when the storms wiped out the main-stage shows, Parker’s plans derailed.
What now, he and his crew thought.
